Terms and Conditions

By booking an appointment with The Hand OT, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These are in place to ensure fair access to appointments for all clients and to support the smooth running of the practice. Our separate Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy also form part of these terms.

1. Making a Booking

●      Appointments can be booked online, by phone, or by email.

●      A referral is not required to book an initial consultation, unless you intend to claim a Medicare rebate under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, in which case a valid GP referral is required prior to your appointment.

2. Fees & Payment

●      Payment is required at the time of your appointment, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.

●      We accept EFTPOS / card / bank transfer

●      Current fees for consultations, splinting, and other services are available on request.

●      Prices are subject to change.

3. Medicare, Private Health Insurance & WorkCover

●      Medicare rebates may be available for eligible clients with a valid Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan referral from their GP. Rebates are processed in accordance with current Medicare guidelines and are the client's responsibility to claim.

●      Private health fund rebates may be available depending on your level of extras cover. Please check your policy directly with your fund, as rebate amounts and eligibility vary.

●      Clients being treated under a WorkCover WA claim must provide claim details prior to their appointment. Treatment costs will be invoiced in accordance with the relevant claim and WorkCover WA fee schedule.

4. Splints & Custom Equipment

●      Custom splints and orthoses are made specifically for you and are non-refundable once fabricated, except where faulty.

●      Adjustments to a splint made within 1 week of initial fitting are included in the original fee; adjustments after this period may incur an additional charge.

5. Health, Safety & Consent

●      Please inform us of any relevant medical conditions, allergies (including to splinting materials or adhesives), or changes to your health prior to treatment.

●      Treatment will only proceed with your informed consent. You are free to ask questions about your treatment plan at any time and to decline any part of it.

●      If you are unwell (e.g. experiencing cold/flu or infectious symptoms), please contact us to discuss rescheduling your appointment.

6. Appointments for Minors

Clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their appointment, who must remain on the premises for the duration of treatment unless other arrangements have been agreed in advance.

7. Liability

The Hand OT provides clinical services in accordance with current professional and ethical standards for occupational therapy practice. While every care is taken in assessment and treatment, outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Clients are encouraged to raise any concerns about their treatment directly with their treating therapist.

8. Changes to These Terms

These terms and conditions may be updated from time to time. The most current version will be available on our website and/or provided at the time of booking.
